Liliw Laguna…Tsinelas festival next week!
Anyone up for bazaar???…lots of quality slippers and shoes at very very affordable prices you will enjoy shopping at our home town in Liliw,Laguna. The latest design for the summer which you will find in the malls here can be bought there at half the price. The festival will start on April 21-29, you can watch unang hirit or magandang umaga pilipinas(not sure which network will feature the event) on April 23 for more details of the event. I recommend stores like Socialite, Pias footwear, La chika, Shalom, Aishe footwear. When you get hungry try eating at Arabelas, they have the best dishes from pizza, pasta, steak and cakes. Some other great pasalubong include uraro, buko pie, lambanog, espasol and kesong puti. Have a happy trip! Check out this links…

Hi, I just want to ask for the directions going to liliw, laguna. I would really appreciate your help. thanks!
from manila, take the SLEX exit Calamba. that should be the very last exit. head towards los banos and keep going. you’ll pass calamba, los banos, victoria. just go towards sta. cruz. it’s just 1 main road. once in sta. cruz, there’s a jolibee right before pagsanjan. turn right there and just go straight. you’ll see signs. from manila it’s about a 3 hour trip, depending on traffic. hope that helps.
what is the nearest hotel where we can stay that is near liliw??? We are planning to visit this coming tsinelas festival. Can you also give us the contact details of your recommended hotel? thanks!
Hi Rene! I am based here in CA already since last year so I am not that familiar if some of the resorts or hotel still accommodate guests. But to name some: Batis ng Liliw- this is the nearest resort with a cheap rate, Villa Gregoria is the next resort/hotel by Nagcarlan, which is 20 minutes drive from Liliw- this has nicer and new rooms; more hotels are located along the way but this is in Sta. Cruz which is 45mintues away from Liliw but I think their rate will be cheaper. Sorry but I don’t have any contact info for them. I suggest you go there early in the morning so you can find a place to stay in and usually its nice to look around and shop in the afternoon when it is not that hot anymore. In the evening, thats when the street party starts, the whole street is closed with lots of food choices and all-night drinking. It is during the last weekend of the festival when there is much more activity, would be the best time to go there.Check out Arabela’s restaurant and Chef Mau, they offer differ cuisine so don’t miss them out.Hope I was able to help somehow. Thanks for reading our blog.
thank you very much for your help!!!!!
Hi,is Liliw far from Pagsanjan because we are going to Pagsanjan this August and we are planning to drop by Liliw Laguna.Thanks.
It’s about 30 minutes drive, once you see Jollibee in Sta. Cruz Laguna this is the intersection going to Liliw when you turn right and when you head up straight this goes in Pagsanjan.Enjoy your trip!

peasGrils: please take note of when this blog was post – April 16, 2007. so when we say “next week”, it’s the week after the initial posted date which would be around April 23, 2007. “next week” doesn’t necessarily mean the week after the blog is read. i just want to clarify that 🙂
THE YEAR IS 1951 , LILIW IS THE PLACE WHERE I WAS BORN. ALTHOUGHT I DID NOT STAY LONGER IN LILIW, WE MIGRATED IN MANILA AND SOMETIMES HAVE A VACATION IN LILIW FROM 1960’S UP TO 1980’S. I LOVE TO EAT “KIPENG” WITH VINEGAR AT THE PARK AND SOMETIMES WE SPENT LATE NIGHT ROOMING THE TOWN. IT REMINDS OF ‘TINUTO”, KARE-KARE GINAYATAN NG PUSO NG SAGING NA NILUTO SA MALAKING LATA NG COOKING OIL, NILUPAK NI “BAYOT”, TO ALL OF MY KABABATA THE LATE ANTHONY LATO (D), CHITO CORDON, ALBERT BROFAR, PARENG LEO BROFAR ETC. THE COOL CATS MEMBERS, GERRY COLIGADO, VIC CAMELLO, ALEX COLIGADO, PAQUITO ALCANTARA (NAGTURO SA AKIN NA MAG-GITARA NOONG 60’S), ETC. LILIW IS MEMORABLE TO ME. IT REMINDS ME OF LTB NI MA ITE, FATHER OF ALEX SUIZA, BABY BUS NA LTB, LIPUTE, HUNGGO, KALUMPET, PAHO, MAKOPA, YAMBO, EL CIRCULO DE LILIO, THE SAGE, LOCATION SITE OF “ANG KILABOT SA MAKILING” IN 1959 STARRING MARIO MONTENEGRO, “GANITO KAMI NOON, PAANO KAYO NGAYON” CHRISTOPHER DE LEON MABUHAY KA LILIW. AND ALSO HELLO TO OUR MAYOR.
ONE THING ABOUT LILIW IS THAT YOU WILL NOT LOOK OLDER BECAUSE OF THE CLIMATE. GO TO “LABAK”, DURING OUR DAYS WE DID NOT CALL IT RESORT, WE CALL IT “LABAK” SA ILAYA, SA GITNA O SA IBUBA. IF YOU WANT TO PLAY BILLIARD, JUST VISIT THE COLIGADO’S HOUSE AND LOOK FOR “KABISE”. I AM CONFUSED WITH THE STREET STA. MARIA AND SAN JOSE? DURING NIGHT TIME, JUST VISIT MR. ARDEZ HOUSE SA IBUBA,JUST ORDER PANCIT AND ENJOY THE MUSIC IN A JUKE BOX. “BUS STOP, DAY TRIPPER. SPEAKING OF DAY TRIPPER, IT REMINDS ME OF THE TRIPPERS SA GITNANG BAYAN DOON NAKATAMBAY SA BILYARAN NI KABISE. KUMUSTA NA KAYO DYAN.

As for my aunts who has been one of the pioneers of the tsinelas business in Liliw……owner of Socialite Footwear please contact her daughter through fb ingrid camello-oro or Shalom footwear FB account Luningning P. Coroza . Just drop them a msg and tell them that you are referred by Abby Coroza and they are will get back to you asap. I just do not want to disclose their cellphone number for their privacy and I am not sure of their business number so it will be great to communicate through facebook. Hope this helps. Thanks
Hi are the shoe/slipper shops in Liliw open this Holy Week? It was my first time in Liliw last year and I was pleasantly surprised to see nice, reasonably priced footwear! And aside from footwear, whist else can we see or what else can we do in Liliw? Was thinking of going there this Holy Sat. Thanks!
They only close on Good Friday but only during the procession, but there are still some shops that remains open. Saturday, most if not all are open since a lot of people are visiting. Do not forget to eat at arabella’s but as a tip reserve your seat an hour before the time you intend to go there, just drop by the resto and tell the owner Tito Bob that Dra Abby referred you :)). they are always packed specially during this time of the season. If you have time tsinelas festival will be held the week after the holy week, I think this is the best time to come since there will be other attractions and booth. This shops are relatives as well so do check them out, Socialite Footwear, Shalom Footwear, Pia’s Footwear, Ai-she Footwear, and Proggressive Footwear. Just tell them I referred you, depending if the owner is there but do ask for some discount :))Other places to go will be our church, we also have the Liliw Resort which is a natural spring water, the next closest pasyalan we go to will be Lucban where we visit Kamay ni Jesus where Father Faller does healing mass. The place is solemn and it is worth going to for sacrifice since you can climb the stair going up the big image of Jesus as you say your prayer….check out pix at flickr but here is one that I fond click hereEnjoy you vacation. Have a solemn holy week.

.Hello po ! please send me details about price of your slippers i want to be a slippers distributor here in pagbilao quezon. and how can i go there kung sa lucban ako magmumula? Salamat..
It depends on the slippers but the price will be from 200 above. Most of the stuff you will able to see on display in the mall so you are getting it really cheap in LIliw. For the directions mayble you can google map it, I haven’t drove there its always my dad driving if we are going that far. But I know there is a way through Pagsanjan and the other way will be through Magdalena.
There are 2 ways onhow you can get to Liliw from Manila.First is via the San Pablo Route. Just take a bus bound to Lucena Via San Pablo. Once in San Pablo City, take a tricycle and head out to the jeepney terminal near the the Cathedral and Fire Station, there you can find jeepneys bound for Liliw. The second is via the Sta Cruz route, just take a bound for the Sta Cruz route via Calamba. Upon arrival in the Sta Cruz terminal, just cross the street and wait for Liliw bound jeepneys.Estimate time for both routes are around 3 hours. You can find air-con and non air-con buses going to San Pablo and Sta Cruz in Cubao and in Buendia LRT.Hope this would help guys… Hope you’ll enjoy visiting my hometown.
san po ung me pnka murang supplier ng mga wedge,,magknu po ung price range nila for example wedge na 3 inch po,,pls reply po,,
sa liliw din, 1 street lang named gat tayaw andun lahat ng tindahan. You can give me your number and I will have my sis in law call you, they have pretty good prices. Kayo na lang mag usap about the prices. Thanks
san po banda mtatagpuan ang pias footwear
ladies’ wedge shoes in liliw typically cost around 300-400. kids’ wedge shoes, on the other hand, cost from 200-350, depending on the complexity of the designs. if you’ve ever stopped by in the gasoline stations along SLEX or NLEX, the wedge shoes being sold there for 895 and up are exactly the ones you can buy “unbranded” in liliw for more than half the price! or the wedge shoes that you see in SM or Robinsons, etc., that cost from 500 up, are also from liliw. went there last week during the last day of the tsinelas festival. if you’re lucky, you can find “last piece” shoes/slippers/wedges from 100-200/pair! when you go to liliw, your 1000 will definitely go a long way, you can go home with 3 pieces of shoes and slippers, at least. definitely worth the trip.
pahingi naman contact number ng supplier sa Liliw. Gusto ko magdirect sa kanila.. Salamat!
