Rosewill RSV-L4500 15 bay server chassis

I meant to post this as soon as I uploaded the video on Youtube. But here is a short video on the Rosewill RSV-L4500.

I bought it from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-Thickness-Rackmount-Black-RSV-L4500/dp/B0091IZ1ZG) for a very good price. Newegg reviews seemed great and what sold me is it can hold up to 15 drives. I didn’t need the back plane. It came with fans instead which always helps for cooling many hard drives.

The only thing I didn’t like is the craftsmanship. The edges weren’t that clean. There were some sharp and unsmooth areas. I didn’t get any cuts while working my way around the chassis but came close numerous times. I would buy another one if it came down to it again… for the same price I paid for it ($85). As a matter of fact I may need another sometime in the future.

Here’s another video with working parts.

The fans are not as loud. Keep in mind though that not all fans are plugged in. It will be slightly louder when all of them are plugged in and running. I will post more when my other parts come in.

Here are some pics I took.

For many years, I’ve been using Apple’s earpods regardless of the phone I’m using. Why? Because they are the best that I’ve used when I just need a plain headset for music and phone functionality. One of the key features it can do is it’s tangle-free, at least the newer ones are. They even survived…

Newegg recently had a sale on the Rosewill N900PCE dual band wireless card. I thought I would try them out since I switched out my router to an Asus RT-N66R. The package came with everything you’ll need, even a low-profile bracket. Here’s some pics I took during my unboxing. Sadly the performance didn’t live up…

I have recently gotten my hands on a used Kindle Touch 3G (D01200) from Cowboom. They had a pretty good price and I was curious. After a few days of use, I’m pretty impressed by its battery life and display (e-ink). I can easily read text while outside in sunlight. It felt good holding it…

I was using my Blackberry Pearl tethered to the laptop before and it uses EDGE to get internet access while away from home or work. It was horrible at best. I was lucky to get over 70kbps. On average I would get 48kbps. So I started to look for an alternative. I checked out AT&T…
